How to Unlock All Call of Duty Blackout Specialist Characters

Below is a guide (with images) to Unlocking All 10 Multiplayer characters for use in Blackout mode.

NOTE: For character with placement requirements, the required match placement will change when switching from solos to duos to quads. If you’re unsure of how you have to place in your given match, you can always hover over the item in your inventory for clarification.

AJAX

Ajax is one of the easier specialist characters to unlock in Call of Duty Blackout. All you have to do for this challenge is find three destroyed armor plating pieces, which you can find in an eliminated enemy’s loot bag.

Collect three destroyed armor plates and finish the game with all three pieces still left in your inventory to unlock Ajax.

TORQUE

To unlock Torque in Blackout, you have to find the NOTE FROM TORQUE item throughout the map in supply drops, supply crates, and fallen enemies.

After finding the NOTE FROM TORQUE item, you must deploy 1 barricade, and 2 razor wires during the match, and end the match with the item still in your inventory and also in the required place.

RECON

To unlock the character Recon for use on Blackout, you must first acquire the CHING COINS item by looting supply crates, supply drops, and fallen enemy loot bags.

After acquiring the CHING COINS item, you have to make sure that you take no damage from the outside collapse throughout the entire match. Finish the match with the CHING COINS in your inventory and Recon will be yours.

CRASH

To unlock the character Crash for use on Blackout, you must first acquire the POKER CHIPS item by looting supply crates, medical bags, and fallen enemy loot bags.

After acquiring the POKER CHIPS item, you must acquire 15 healing items and end the match in the required placement with at least 15 healing items and the POKER CHIPS still in your inventory.

PROPHET

One of the most difficult character missions in Call of Duty Blackout thus far belongs to Prophet. The first step to unlocking Prophet is to find the OCULAR PROSTHETIC item during the match in supply drops, supply crates, and fallen enemies loot bags.

After acquiring the OCULAR PROSTHETIC item, you must find some perks. The final step is to win the match while having three perks active, and the match with the OCULAR PROSTHETIC item still in your inventory.

SERAPH

The first step in unlocking Seraph in Blackout, you must first acquire the ANNIHILATOR during the match.

After finding the annihilator, you must get 1 kill with the weapon, and finish the match in the required place to unlock Seraph’s character.

For information on how to unlock the ANNIHILATOR during the match, see our guide here.

RUIN

To unlock Ruin’s character, you first have to find the PUNCHING MITTS item from supply crates, supply drops, and eliminated enemies.

After acquiring the item, you have to get a close quarter kill during the match, and finish the match with the PUNCHING MITTS still in your inventory. There are no match placement requirements to complete this character mission.

FIREBREAK

To unlock Firebreak’s character in Blackout you have to first find the BURNED DOLL item, which can be found in supply drops, supply crates, and from looting eliminated enemies.

After acquiring the item, you must either get 1 kill with fire (Molotov) or clean up 1 downed enemy with fire. Finish the game with the BURNED DOLL item in your inventory. There are no match placement requirements for Firebreak.

BATTERY

To unlock Battery’s character in Blackout you have to first find the WAR MACHINE, which can be found in supply drops, supply crates, and from looting eliminated enemies.

After acquiring the WAR MACHINE, get two kills with it, and end the game with the WAR MACHINE in your inventory. There are no match placement requirements for Battery.

NOMAD

To unlock Nomad’s character in Call of Duty’s Blackout mode, you must first find the JUNEAU’S TAGS item during the match. This item can be found in supply drops, supply crates, and from looting fallen enemies during the course of the match.

After finding this item, you have to go on to kill 3 specialist enemies during the match. So a bit of luck is required here. You not only have to eliminate 3 people or more, but you have to also hope that they are using one of the characters on this list.

After eliminating 3 specialist characters, just finish the match with the JUNEAU’S TAGS item in your inventory and you’ll have completed the mission and unlock Nomad for use in Blackout.
